Physician Presentence Report Service (PPRS) Disclaimer / Privacy

DISCLAIMER

Physician Presentence Report Service LLC recognizes that the PSR gathers a variety of other information including topics such as social, familial, educational, criminal, and financial past history. At the same time, we’re aware of the need to make the designation process within the Federal Medical ‘CARE-LEVEL’ Delivery System more transparent due to the critical part the PSR plays within the BOP’s classification Designation and Sentence Computation Center (DSCC) Process.

These are recommendations only from PPRS/PPRSUS, and the final responsibility lies with the legal team, court, and BOP.

Broadly speaking, approximately 90% of the PSR is directly related to criminal, medical needs, and security requirements.

Inmates are designated/re-designated to institutions based on:

  • the level of security and staff supervision the inmate requires,
  • the level of security and staff supervision the institution provides,
  • the medical classification care level of the inmate and the care level of the institution,
  • the inmate’s program needs (e.g., substance abuse treatment, educational/vocational training, individual and/or group counseling, medical/mental health treatment), and
  • various administrative factors (e.g., institution bed space capacity; the inmate’s release residence; judicial recommendations; separation needs; and security measures needed to ensure the protection of victims, witnesses, and the general public).

There is no guaranteed implied or otherwise of final prison placement, medical and/or medication availability, or program enrollment. As the BOP has the final say on ‘All Inmate Issues’, once incarcerated, placement and program enrollment may vary.

In addition to the defense teams’ insight as to their background and defense strategy, PPRS Prison Match  is meant to be used solely as a ‘mitigation aide‘ in the sentencing and prison placement decision-making process.
